Brooklyn, New York born Johnny Carino is no stranger Dallas, Texas, where he has built a name as one of Dallas’ celebrity chefs.
Though no longer involved, the namesake of Austin-based Johnny Carino’s Country Kitchen is known for a unique sense of humor and a drive and passion few can keep up with.
With a diverse 20+ years of culinary and restaurant development under his belt, he has traveled the world to fulfill his love for food. He made his family proud when at 14 he told them he would become a chef. His grandparents, natives of Italy, taught Johnny at a very early age the passion and lifestyle that food is all about. Proudly that passion remains today.
Carino now returns to the air with “Break Me Off A Piece Of That” a gourmet cooking show that shows how easy it is to get in the kitchen and prepare great, fun food with a matter of ease and his slogan of “great food to impress your friends, impress your family, but most of all—impress yourself” is true to its nature as in 30 minutes he turns great food into a festival of celebration.
